John Fussell, aged about 23, was killed at Taitapu, Canterbury, on Thursday, by the wheel of a dray passing over his neck. He is buried at Springston Cemetery, Block A, no 223.

Funeral at Tai Tapu.- The funeral prosession of Mr John Fussell, who was  accidentally killed on Wednesday last, extended over a mile in length, and comprised ninety-seven vehicles and fortythree horsemen. The funeral service was held in the Wesleyan Chapel, Tai Tapu, by the Rev C. Griffon. The choir, under Mr H. N. Tanner's leadership, sang suitable hymns. The pall-bearers were Messrs J. and W. Watson, H. and G. Mangels, T. Morgan and J. Tobeck, members of the choir. The floral wreaths were many and beautiful, those from the Wesleyan choir, of which deceased was a member, Miss Grabau and Mrs H. W. Peryman being particularly fine.
