James Douglas McBean – Training Unit

James Douglas, known as Douglas, was born in 1893, son of George and Emma (nee Rowell) McBean. James had enlisted and gone for training at Trentham Camp six months before his death. He had been discharged owing to chronic ear trouble and had returned to Springston to work on his father’s farm. He was buried in St Mary’s Churchyard, Springston after a large funeral . Douglas is remembered on the Springston War Memorial. Sadly, he is not listed on the Cenotaph Database.
